2021 Updates

Dear PRCHA Members,

In a year filled with uncertainty, our horses were one of the few things that gave us security.

No matter what was happening in the world, our horses needed to be fed and trained and stalls needed to be cleaned. There is no better time to be a cowboy.

Chores were a given, but shows were not this year. A lot of behind-the-scenes work had to happen to make the two shows PRCHA was able to hold happen, and when we were able to come back, you returned with enthusiasm. Because of you, our membership was up 34 percent from last year, and our show payouts were up 24 percent. Thank you.

I also want to thank our sponsors that stepped up this year in a time of economic uncertainty to help support our sport here at home in the Texas Panhandle. I hope you take the time to look over our sponsor list and show your appreciation by supporting them in return.

As we wrap up 2020, I want to congratulate all of our 2020 Year-End Champions on their great seasons.

We are looking forward to 2021 and providing our members with a full year of great shows.

Among the things planned for the year:

  • The year-end awards celebration at our first show in March
  • A May show in Amarillo
  • July show including derby and bridle spectacular
  • September show and pre-work event
  • Increased payouts at 2021 shows
  • The continuation of popular programs like the Never Won A Buckle series
  • Continued fun events like the celebratory random show awards

Be sure to check our 2021 show schedule for tentative show dates. These dates are tentative and may change.

The PRCHA board would love your feedback as we continue to serve our membership and grow the sport of reined cow horse in the Texas Panhandle. Email us at panhandlecowhorse@gmail.com with your thoughts and ideas.

See you down the road.

PRCHA President Lane Arnold
