PRCHA Year-End Banquet Information & 2018 Schedule

The show season will get underway a little sooner than usual this year, thanks to our new World Show Warm-Up Show.

Hello PRCHA!

As we move closer to our first show of the year, we have some updates to pass along!

We WERE approved for the additional funds for our World Show Warm-Up show in Sweetwater. There WILL be a total of $3,130 added to each day with NO fee increases, so watch for the entry form to be emailed and posted to our web in the coming weeks! Another slight change is that our banquet will be Friday, January 26, and will be catered by Buck’s (BBQ, fixins, and dessert) with a cash bar. The cost for dinner will be $20/plate and we will include the RSVP on our entry form for those who are also showing; however, we’ll also be sending an RSVP to year-end winners in the mail as an additional reminder. Due to our banquet being Friday evening, we will move our herd work practice up to begin at 3 p.m. and need to be finished by 6, as dinner will be at 6:30, followed by awards.

We only have four buckle sponsorships available, thanks to Coolhorse and Champions Choice Buckles for sponsoring eight! If you’d like to sponsor a buckle, the cost will be $140 and you will be recognized at our awards banquet for your contribution. If you would like to sponsor a reserve award, the cost will be $90 and we have six available.

PRCHA 2018 Schedule (updated 12/7/2017):

Below is an updated schedule of shows. We all knew about the AQHA Versatility Ranch Horse World Championship Show in June and it slipped by us when we set our schedule, so we have decided to cancel our June show.

Year-End Awards Banquet, officer/board election Friday evening
    Nolan County Coliseum, Sweetwater
  • April 27-29 – Spring Fling

  • May 18-20 – Windy City Warm-Up
    Tri-State Fairgrounds, Amarillo
  • July 13-15 – Red Dirt Rendezvous & Derby
    Tri-State Fairgrounds, Amarillo
  • August 3-5 – One-Day NRCHA/SHOT/AQHA Versatility Ranch Horse Show

Tag-Me-In Drawing

In an effort to raise funds for our July Derby, we’re offering a Tag-Me-In opportunity to those who would like to take a chance on winning some money, and contributing to the cause at the same time.

Here’s how it works: PRCHA has purchased ear tags numbered 1-99. You draw for an ear tag, pay the amount on the tag indicated by the number, and write your name on it, the tag goes into the “hopper” and once they’re all sold, we will have a drawing for the winner. The winner has a chance at winning $2,500 and PRCHA has the opportunity to raise $2,500 to put toward the Derby. For example, if someone draws #20, they pay $20, draw #3, pay $3, and so on. There are quite a few smaller numbers still available and so if you’d like to play, please reach out to PRCHA Secretary Kristen Jacobson. We will accept checks by mail made out to PRCHA and write your name on an ear tag for you. Kristen will even send you a video if you’d like, as she draws for your ear tag. We will have these tags available in January at our show and banquet, but if you’d like to buy your chance(s) before, we can help!

Thank you and we hope to see you in Sweetwater!
PRCHA Secretary Kristen Jacobson
